He fell in love with Marie Mancini of humble birth. After falling seriously ill at war and being presumed dead, only Marie stayed loyal by his side. However, their love was opposed by the court and the Church. Louis was forced to wed a Spanish princess. Following Mazarin’s death, Louis took full power as “Le Roi Soleil”, indulged in pleasure, including romantic affairs with Madame de Montespan, and built Versailles at the people’s cost. After many twists of fate, he married Madame de Maintenon, who was the governess of his illegitimate child, against all objections. Music : Dove Attia, Rod Janois, Rémy Lacroix, William Rousseau, Cyril Paulus, Guy Waku, Mary L.
