The remnants of Typhoon Saudel re-entered the sea yesterday morning (August 31) and strengthened again into a typhoon in the northwestern part of the South China Sea early this morning. For the next three days, influenced by Saudel and its northern trough, many parts of southern China will continue to experience heavy rainfall, with Jiangsu, Anhui, and Hainan experiencing particularly heavy cumulative rainfall; precautions against secondary disasters are necessary. While the rainfall will reduce high temperatures in the south, the weather will remain muggy in eastern Sichuan and Chongqing; precautions against heatstroke are advised.

Typhoon Saudel has revived in the South China Sea; East and South China need to be wary of potential disasters caused by combined rainfall.

Since making landfall in my country, Typhoon Saudel has followed an extremely unusual path, passing through Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, and Guangdong before re-entering the sea, bringing prolonged wind and rain. Over the past three or four days, areas in the Jiangnan, South China, and Jianghuai regions have experienced heavy rainfall, with some areas receiving over 400 millimeters of rain.

Yesterday, influenced by the remnants of Typhoon Saudel, many parts of South China experienced heavy rainfall. Simultaneously, affected by its trough, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces also experienced torrential rain. Monitoring showed that parts of southern Jiangsu and Anhui, northern Zhejiang, eastern and southern Fujian, western and southern Jiangxi, southern Hunan, central and eastern Guangdong, Hainan, southern Taiwan, southeastern Tibet, and northeastern Jilin experienced heavy rain or torrential rain, with localized extremely heavy rain in Ledong, Changjiang, and Dongfang in Hainan, Quanzhou in Fujian, and Pingtung in Taiwan.

Typhoon Saudel dissipated over Guangxi at 17:00 on August 30. Its remnants entered the sea again on the morning of the 31st, reaching the waters near the eastern edge of the Leizhou Peninsula. It strengthened into a typhoon again in the northwestern part of the South China Sea early this morning and may further engulf tropical disturbances in the South China Sea.

Typhoon Saudel and its trough to the north will continue to affect the Yangtze River Delta, the Jiangnan region, and South China. Over the next three days, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan, and Zhejiang will experience frequent heavy rainfall. The National Meteorological Center forecasts that today, parts of central and eastern Fujian, southern Zhejiang, eastern Guangdong, southern Jiangxi, western and southern Taiwan, southern Hainan, western Yunnan, northern and eastern Heilongjiang, northeastern Jilin, and southeastern Tibet will experience heavy to torrential rain. Some areas in southern Zhejiang, northeastern Fujian, and southern Taiwan will experience extremely heavy rain, with localized areas in northeastern Fujian experiencing exceptionally heavy rain.

Tomorrow, parts of southern Zhejiang, eastern and southern Fujian, southern Jiangxi, southeastern Hunan, central and eastern Guangdong, Taiwan, and northeastern Heilongjiang will experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas in northeastern and southern Fujian, eastern Guangdong, and southwestern Jiangxi experiencing extremely heavy rain.

The day after tomorrow, parts of southern Fujian, southern Jiangxi, central and eastern Guangdong, and Taiwan will experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas in southern Fujian, eastern Guangdong, and eastern Taiwan experiencing extremely heavy rain.

Recently, parts of Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, and Hainan have been frequently hit by heavy rainfall. These areas will continue to experience heavy rainfall in the next three days, and vigilance is needed to guard against the cumulative effects and prevent secondary disasters such as landslides and mudslides that may be triggered.

High temperatures in southern China have decreased, but the temperature difference between day and night is large in the north, so it's necessary to add layers in the morning and evening.

Due to rainfall, the area affected by high temperatures in southern China will shrink over the next three days, with temperatures in many parts of Jiangnan and South China gradually falling below the average for this time of year. Among major cities, Hefei will only see a high of 24℃ tomorrow, accompanied by light rain, making it feel slightly cool.

However, the weather around the Sichuan Basin remains hot, with occasional high temperatures expected. For example, Chongqing's high temperatures will remain around 34℃ for the next four days, with more high temperatures expected starting Friday. The weather will still feel quite muggy, so continued precautions against heatstroke are necessary.

Meanwhile, daytime temperatures are comfortable in many parts of northern China, with highs in North China and the Yellow River Basin below 30°C. However, there is a significant temperature difference between day and night, with lows generally below 20°C. It will be noticeably cool in the mornings and evenings, so please dress warmly to avoid catching a cold. (Source: China Weather Network)
