Don't book overnight stays in Jinhua haphazardly | Blogger's personal review of cost-effective areas within 2km of 4 major transportation hubs (including early morning flights/avoiding pitfalls for ov

To catch an early flight from Yiwu, I was once led into a dead end by GPS navigation in Beiyuan, dragging my suitcase for almost twenty minutes. After that experience, I revisited all the accommodation areas within two kilometers of the major transportation hubs in Jinhua. This article isn't written according to popular shopping district lists, but only based on "close to the station, easy to sleep in, and not exhausting to drag suitcases," providing a personally tested list for those with layovers, early flights, or arriving at night.

Within 2 kilometers of Jinhua High-Speed Railway Station: Stay near the People's Square to the south of the station; don't be tempted by the proximity to the North Square.

After exiting Jinhua Station, walk south across the station square to reach People's Square and Wuyi Road area, about a 12-15 minute walk or a short taxi ride (starting fare). The area is densely populated with chain hotels and budget guesthouses, with numerous convenience stores and breakfast shops downstairs, ensuring a quick hot meal even when arriving late at night. Major bus routes typically start running around 5 or 6 PM, with the last bus around 9:30 PM. High-speed trains often arrive close to 11 PM, so in the late night, you'll need to rely on ride-hailing services or taxis, but fortunately, the waiting time is usually short.

Suitable for: People arriving in Jinhua by high-speed rail late at night and needing to catch a train or transfer early the next morning. Avoid these pitfalls: Some hotels near the North Square with signs saying "Stationfront View" are right next to the railway line; you may hear vibrations and whistles from passing trains at night, so light sleepers should avoid them. Many older hotels on Wuyi Road solicit customers; it's recommended to check online beforehand and avoid being taken to see rooms on the spot.

Within 2 kilometers of Yiwu Airport: the area west of Beiyuan Airport Road, the preferred overnight accommodation area for early morning flights.

Within Jinhua city, most flights depart from Yiwu Airport. Within a two-kilometer radius of the airport, the most concentrated area for overnight stays is the new village and apartments west of Airport Road in Beiyuan Subdistrict. It's about a 15-25 minute walk to the terminal, or a 5-8 minute taxi ride. Accommodation here mainly consists of mid-range apartments and a few budget hotels, suitable for those with flights before 7:00 AM, landing late at night, and who don't want to go into Yiwu city.

First and Last Flight Reference: There is no rail transit connection to the airport. Bus lines run earlier than in the city, with most buses closing between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. For early morning flights, you can only take a taxi or have your hotel provide airport transfer. Tips to Avoid: Don't just look at the straight-line distance on the map. Some apartment buildings converted from factories on the east side of Airport Road have entrances on dead-end roads, which can be confusing at night when dragging luggage. Aircraft takeoff and landing noise starts around 5 AM, so make sure your room doesn't face the runway, or bring earplugs.

Within 2 kilometers of the West Bus Station: the Hepanqiao area along Wujiang West Road offers a quieter place to store large luggage overnight.

The West Bus Station and Jinhua Railway Station are actually only separated by a West Square, but the two groups of passengers choose them based on different logics: high-speed rail passengers prioritize speed, while long-distance bus passengers typically have more luggage and arrive more frequently during the day. From the West Bus Station, walk west along Wujiang West Road to the Hepan Bridge area, about a ten-minute walk or a three-to-five-minute taxi ride. This area isn't a commercial district; it's mostly older residential areas, and there's less traffic at night than in front of the station, leading to better sleep quality.

First and Last Bus Reference: Long-distance bus arrivals are concentrated during the day, with significantly fewer departures after 7 PM; the last bus departs around 9:30 PM, and you can walk or take a bus one stop to Jinhua Station. Suitable for: People with large luggage, or those taking a bus from surrounding counties to Jinhua for a transfer. Avoidance Tips: Some guesthouses in older residential areas near Hepan Bridge do not have elevators, so be sure to confirm the floor before booking; you may sometimes hear short, sharp horns from freight lines along the river, so it's not recommended to choose a room on the riverside.

Within 2 kilometers of Wanda Plaza Station on the subway: Duohuguang South Road area, connecting to Jinyidong overnight accommodation.

If you plan to use the Jinhua Rail Transit to travel between Yiwu and Dongyang, the Duohu Guangnan Road area within a 2-kilometer radius of Wanda Plaza Station is very useful. It's only a 5-8 minute walk from the station to Guangnan Road, where there are many apartments and brand-name hotels, as well as a full range of restaurants and shopping malls. Even after 9 pm, there are still places to buy water and late-night snacks.

First and last train reference: The first train on the Jinyidong Line in both directions departs around 6:30 AM, while the last trains towards Jinhua Station and Qintang are mostly between 9:30 PM and 9:40 PM; the transfer from the high-speed rail at Jinhua Station to the subway takes about ten minutes. Suitable for: People who need to stay overnight in Jinhua city and take the subway to Yiwu the next morning for business or transfers. Avoidance tips: This area is a mix of high-rise apartments and commercial spaces; some guesthouses have poor soundproofing, and elevator wait times are long. Before booking, ask if there are card rooms or murder mystery game rooms on the same floor; prioritizing branded chain stores will ensure greater stability.

Personally tested summary and practical tips for overnight stays

The four areas correspond to four types of essential needs: those catching high-speed trains or arriving at Jinhua Station at night should choose the area south of the station, near People's Square; those catching early morning flights should stay near Yiwu Airport North Campus Airport Road; those with large luggage for long-distance buses should choose the area west of the West Bus Station, near Hepan Bridge; and those needing to connect to the Jinyi-Dongguan rail line should choose the area near Wanda Plaza Station, near Guangnan Road. The general principle is that "close to the hub" does not mean "living next to the rail line or runway," and sound insulation and road conditions are more important than straight-line distance.

Practical Tips: 1. Before placing an order, open a map satellite image and avoid buildings located next to railways, airport runways, or elevated highway ramps; 2. When arriving late at night, prioritize accommodations with 24-hour front desks or self-service check-in vouchers. Be cautious about staying in older communities without elevators; 3. Although Jinhua Station and West Bus Station are close, the populations are different. High-speed rail passengers can stay near People's Square for more dining options, while bus passengers can stay near Hepanqiao for a quieter environment; 4. For early morning flights from Yiwu, allow at least half an hour to get to the airport and arrange transportation in advance; 5. After the last subway train, the demand for taxis will surge. The closer you are to the station, the more likely you are to be overcharged. Set your ride-hailing location in advance.
