On August 27, the Ministry of Transport released typical cases of high-quality domestic waterway tourism passenger transport routes for 2025, with a total of 19 routes selected nationwide. The release of these typical cases aims to further promote the upgrading of waterway tourism passenger transport, advance the integration of transportation and tourism development, and fully leverage the important role of waterway tourism passenger transport in expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption.

Typical examples include four types: urban landscape tours, natural landscape tours, distinctive cultural tours, and coastal sightseeing tours. These tours cleverly combine natural scenery, historical context, and modern technology to provide tourists with a diverse range of water tourism experiences.

The typical cases cover a wide geographical area, involving 19 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Shanxi, Shanghai, and Chongqing. In terms of route types, distinctive cultural tours include the Beijing Grand Canal scenic route and the "Shanghai Star" multicultural theme route; natural landscape tours include the Taihang Water Charm and Jiunüxian Lake scenic route and the Tonglu Poetry and Painting Fuchun River scenic route; urban landscape tours include the Wuxi Ancient Canal tourism route and the "One River, Two Banks - Night Cruise on the Tingjiang River" tourism route; and coastal sightseeing tours include the "Sea Tour of Dalian" two bays and one port route and the Shenzhen "Waterfront Linkage" Chimelong theme scenic route.
