China Agricultural Museum: Launches a Series of Cultural Activities Based on the Twenty-Four Solar Terms
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms being inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Recently, the National Agricultural Exhibition Center (China Agricultural Museum), as the leading conservation unit for the project, launched a series of cultural activities, including "Harmony Between Heaven and Earth â An Immersive Experience of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms," "The Order of the Four Seasons, the Fun of All Things â A Gathering of Elegant People on the Twenty-Four Solar Terms," and the online interactive museum "Our Memories of the Solar Terms."
The exhibition "Harmony Between Heaven, Earth and Man: An Immersive Experience of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms" is located in Hall 7 of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center. Using "Harmony Between Heaven, Earth and Man" as its narrative thread, it organically integrates cultural relics displays, interactive installations, and digital technology. It features exhibition areas such as "How the Solar Terms Work," "The Constant Movement of the Heavens," and "VR Large Space," covering multiple dimensions including astronomy, phenology, agriculture, folk customs, and health preservation. It will be open to the public for an extended period.
The "Four Seasons in Order, All Things Interesting - Gathering of Elegant People on the Twenty-Four Solar Terms" event was held from August 28th to 30th. It used a stamp collection and check-in activity as the interactive theme and set up sections such as solar term-themed games and challenges, hands-on experiences, and intangible cultural heritage and cultural and creative displays, with a total of more than 30 interactive points.
The "Our Memories of the Solar Terms" online interactive museum is open for free registration on the official website of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center (China Agricultural Museum). The public is encouraged to upload original content related to the "Twenty-Four Solar Terms," including everyday images, folk custom pictures, and essays about the solar terms. Uploaded content will be reviewed and selected for display. The museum is compatible with both PC and mobile devices and supports multiple search methods. Through an interactive online platform for co-creation and sharing, it showcases the vibrant aspects of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms in contemporary life, creating a rich, diverse, and interactive collective memory platform that combines heritage preservation with engagement.
