On August 27th, the six-day social practice activity of Fudan University's "Xingzhi History Society" successfully concluded in Luzidu Town, Taojiang County, Hunan Province. The activity, themed "Entering the Countryside: Observing Education, Tracing the Red Lineage, and Exploring Development," saw the Fudan University practice team join hands with the Taojiang County Selected Cadre Service Team to deeply explore Taojiang's local red resources and distinctive industrial advantages. They conducted a series of practical activities, including summer camp lectures, student home visits, red-themed study tours, and industry research, building a high-quality practical platform for two-way exchange between university youth, grassroots selected cadres, and local teenagers.

Luzidu Town is the hometown of Zhang Kundi, a pioneer of the workers' movement. The "Xingzhi History Society" team from Fudan University, seizing the opportunity of studying revolutionary history, forged a connection with this revolutionary land. During their work, the team offered tiered summer camps for local primary and secondary school students, featuring courses such as science experiments, Go (Weiqi) culture, learning experience sharing, and inspirational education from revolutionary predecessors. Simultaneously, the team actively conducted home visits, focusing on supporting disadvantaged youth and addressing the shortcomings of traditional educational assistance that prioritize material support over spiritual enrichment.

Liang Changyin, advisor and doctoral student of the Xingzhi History Society at Fudan University, explained that he has long been engaged in historical research related to Zhang Kundi. It was precisely because of the profound red cultural heritage of Luzidu Town that the team chose to carry out social practice here, hoping to rely on local red resources for study and research, and to temper the original aspirations and missions of young students.

During the study tour, the team visited Zhang Kundi Cultural Square and Zhang Ziqing Red Education Base, immersing themselves in the influence of revolutionary culture. They also visited Banxi Village's rural classroom, Longtangwan Village's mushroom base, and Zhang Ziqing's tea garden to investigate the development of rural specialty industries. Finally, they explored the Taohuajiang Bamboo Sea Rural Revitalization Pilot Zone, gaining a deeper understanding of the bamboo-growing region's ecological resources, its culture of integrity, and its rich local culture.

Deep collaboration between the university and the local community is the core highlight of this practical activity. During the activity, the Fudan University practice team held a special seminar with the Taojiang County Selected Cadre Service Team to collect first-hand research data on improving the quality of rural education, developing red tourism, and upgrading characteristic industries, and jointly explored a long-term cooperation model between the university and the local community, so as to empower the rural revitalization and development of Taojiang with the wisdom of young people.

Deng Mingrong, a 2024 graduate selected for civil service positions in Hunan Province and a member of the Party Committee and Publicity Committee of Luzidu Town, said that this cooperation between the university and the local government can not only leverage the high-quality resources of Fudan University to help spread local revolutionary culture and develop characteristic industries, but also build a regular platform for exchanges between the university and the local government to achieve mutual learning and assistance, and unite the strength of young people to deeply cultivate the grassroots and serve the countryside.

"In the future, our team will continue to deepen our cooperation with Taojiang, using this place as a practical base for college students to understand the national conditions and hone their skills, guiding young people to stay true to their original aspiration of serving the people and integrate their personal growth into the great cause of rural revitalization," said Liang Changyin.
