Typhoon and cold air continue to bring rain, and the summer heat dissipates in many parts of both the north and south.
Today (August 31), the remnants of Typhoon Saudel continue to affect my country along with cold air, bringing heavy rainfall to many parts of southern China, with some areas in Jiangsu and Hainan experiencing torrential downpours. Residents should be alert to the potential for secondary disasters such as flash floods and mudslides caused by the combined effects of the rainfall. Under the influence of the rain and cold air, the high temperatures in the south are decreasing, and cooler temperatures are gradually appearing in many parts of Jiangnan.
The remnants of Typhoon Saudel and cold air continue to bring rain, with heavy rainfall still occurring in Jiangsu, Hainan, and other areas.
Yesterday, influenced by the remnants of Typhoon Saudel and cold air, heavy rainfall occurred in many parts of Anhui, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Hainan. Monitoring showed that heavy to torrential rain occurred in central and southern Jiangsu, western and southern Anhui, southeastern Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, eastern Guangxi, Guangdong, western and northern Hainan, southeastern Fujian, and southern Taiwan, with some areas experiencing extremely heavy rain. Extremely heavy rain occurred in some areas, including Xuancheng in Anhui, Shenzhen in Guangdong, and Nantong and Yancheng in Jiangsu.
Today, influenced by the remnants of Typhoon Saudel, a monsoon trough, and cold air, many areas in the Yangtze River Delta, Jiangnan region, and South China will still experience heavy rainfall. Locally, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces may see torrential downpours, with rainfall intensity rarely seen or even rare for this time of year, accompanied by severe convective weather. Furthermore, affected by a cold vortex, northeastern Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang provinces will experience locally torrential downpours today and tomorrow.
The National Meteorological Center forecasts that today, parts of central and southern Jiangsu, eastern and southern Anhui, northwestern and southeastern Zhejiang, southeastern Hubei, northwestern and eastern Jiangxi, eastern Hunan, central, eastern and southwestern Guangdong, eastern Fujian, Hainan Island, central and southern Taiwan Island, as well as western and southern Yunnan, southern Tibet, northeastern Inner Mongolia, northern Heilongjiang, and eastern Jilin will experience heavy to torrential rain. Among these areas, parts of central and southern Jiangsu, southeastern Anhui, northwestern Jiangxi, northern Guangdong, southeastern coastal Fujian, central and western Hainan Island, southern Taiwan Island, southeastern Tibet, and eastern Jilin will experience extremely heavy rain, with some localized areas experiencing exceptionally heavy rain.
Tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of eastern Jianghuai, eastern and southern Jiangnan, eastern South China, southern Hainan Island, Taiwan Island, and eastern and northern Heilongjiang. Among these areas, heavy rain or torrential rain is expected in parts of northeastern Jiangsu, Shanghai, central and eastern Zhejiang, eastern and southern Fujian, eastern Guangdong, western and southern Taiwan Island, southern Hainan Island, and eastern Heilongjiang.
The day after tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of the Jianghuai region, central and eastern Jiangnan region, eastern South China region, and northeastern Heilongjiang region. In particular, some areas in southeastern Zhejiang, eastern Fujian, and eastern Guangdong will experience torrential rain or heavy downpours.
Today, due to heavy rainfall, there is a high probability of flash floods in southeastern Anhui and southwestern Hainan Island, requiring strengthened precautions. In early September, multiple low-pressure systems in the monsoon convergence zone will interact and merge, and the subtropical high will strengthen and extend westward, facilitating the continuous transport of moisture to East China and eastern South China. This will lead to frequent heavy rainfall in many parts of southern China, requiring vigilance against the cumulative effects and precautions against secondary disasters such as flash floods and mudslides.
High temperatures in southern China are decreasing, while significant temperature differences between day and night are observed in many parts of Sichuan and Chongqing.
Affected by rainfall and the southward movement of cold air, high temperatures in Jiangnan and South China will decrease in the coming days. Cities like Changsha and Nanchang will see highs below 30â over the next three days, even cooler than many parts of northern China.
High temperatures will be concentrated in eastern Sichuan and Chongqing. Chengdu will still experience high temperatures today, but the temperature difference between day and night will be significant, with a low of only 21°C. Be sure to dress warmly in the mornings and evenings to avoid catching a cold.
Most of North China and the Huanghuai region will experience sunny weather today and tomorrow, with highs around 30â. There will be a significant temperature difference between day and night, with lows only around 20â, and even below 15â in some areas. It will be cool in the mornings and evenings. In major cities, Beijing's highs over the next week will be around 30â, while the low on September 1st will only reach 18â. Remember to dress warmly in the mornings and evenings to avoid catching a cold. (Source: China Weather Network)
