Built along the riverside, Mercedes-Benz Arena stands proudly in the core area of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo Park, adjacent to the Expo Axis and Shanghai Art Museum (China Art Museum). The whole building boasts a unique light, dynamic shape like a flying saucer, just like a "Shell in the Art Sea" that stuns the world with its stunning beauty. It has a 18,000-seat main venue, as well as a music club, cinema, ice rink, restaurants and retail zones. During the World Expo, it undertook various large-scale performances and events to meet the demand of major cultural and artistic performances of the Expo. Meanwhile, full consideration was given to the subsequent utilization and sustainable development needs after the Expo, to adapt to Shanghai's positioning as an "International Cultural Metropolis". Now Mercedes-Benz Arena is open to the public for a long term. It irregularly hosts mega celebrations, concerts, as well as basketball games, ice shows and even ice hockey matches. Diva Faye Wong, Asian top group S.H.E, American star Taylor Swift and many other artists have held concerts here. The large venue and advanced futuristic on-site effects have left all fans with unforgettable memories.
