The Chongqing Municipal Government General Office recently released the "Chongqing 15th Five-Year Plan for Cultural Tourism Development (2026-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"). The Plan proposes to continuously enhance the brand of "Magnificent Mountains and Rivers, New Charm of Chongqing", accelerate the creation of landmark achievements of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor, and improve the quality of building a cultural tourism powerhouse with international flair, Chinese charm, and Chongqing flavor, injecting strong cultural tourism momentum into the effort to write a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Chongqing.

The plan outlines a clear roadmap for the high-quality development of Chongqing's cultural tourism over the next five years, covering 14 aspects including enhancing the driving force of the Bashu cultural tourism corridor, promoting the artistic development of the new era, ensuring the continuation of the Bashu cultural heritage, and improving the modern public cultural service system.

The plan proposes to enhance the corridor's driving force, upgrade the "1 core, 3 belts, 9 lines" spatial layout, expand and improve the construction of a unified Sichuan-Chongqing cultural tourism market, and collaboratively build a regional cultural tourism development community. It also aims to improve the Sichuan-Chongqing collaborative construction mechanism, strengthen distinctive cultural tourism IPs (intellectual property rights) such as "Kuan Hong Da Liang," "Dian Shi Cheng Jin," and "Zi Zu Chang Le," optimize the "Chongqing-Chengdu and Chengdu-Chongqing" passenger flow sharing model, solidify the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor Industry Alliance, and innovatively implement cultural tourism benefit measures such as "Enjoying Bashu" and "Tourism All-in-One Card."
