At the Hangzhou AI City Technology Experience Center, 12-year-old Lian Fang, wearing a brain-computer interface headband, stared intently at the popcorn machine in front of him. The numbers on the screen fluctuated with his concentration—once a certain threshold was reached, the machine would start heating. A few minutes later, the aroma of popcorn wafted through the air, eliciting cheers from the other members of the study tour group.

This summer, similar scenes are playing out every day at various science and technology research and learning bases in Hangzhou. Teenagers enter AI research and learning camps, not only checking off cutting-edge technological achievements and interacting with robots in fun ways, but also "developing" simple smart products themselves.

In the newly completed AI Hangzhou City Living Room in the Wensan Digital Life Street, a panoramic portrait can be captured in 0.3 seconds, and a personalized 3D figurine can be generated using AI algorithms; standing in front of a smart dressing mirror, you can "change clothes" with one click; and a humanoid robot with 23 high degrees of freedom joints will also give visitors blind box surprises.

"The original experience center focused on showcasing the technological achievements of the 'Six Little Dragons' companies, while the new exhibition hall offers more lightweight experiences," said Jiang Chenming, the person in charge of the district. He added that since the beginning of this summer, the district has received more than 12,000 visitors, an increase of about 50% year-on-year, and the total revenue from study tours has exceeded 5 million yuan.

Immersive experiences are attracting young tech enthusiasts. Yan Kehong, a fourth-grade student, is particularly fascinated by AI. His mother, Qi Shuangmei, said that she works in a related industry and has taken her son to many study tours. "China's technology is developing so fast. Sometimes, even I find the things he says fascinating."

Since its opening more than two months ago, the AI City Technology Experience Center has been receiving an average of seven study tour groups every day, with schedules running from morning till night. Zhang Guoren, the person in charge of the center, listed the composition of the visitors: "We have parent-child groups, student groups, and many overseas groups from Spain, the United States, and Singapore have also come."

The demand for study tours is becoming increasingly diverse, which has also spurred the development of customized courses. Wei Shuqi, a study tour guide born in the 2000s, gave an example: "Elementary school students can assemble robot dogs and raise AI desktop pets, while junior and senior high school students can try to build simulation systems with intelligent agents, which can help them develop different abilities."

Leveraging the new trend of AI-driven educational tourism, Hangzhou has launched "20 New Scenic Spots for Science and Technology Tourism" and 20 themed routes for science and technology educational tours, connecting scattered science and technology resources into a science and technology tourism map; Beijing's Yizhuang district already has about 20 science and technology educational venues, and the number of visitors this summer has more than doubled compared to the same period last year; the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum has seen a surge in enrollment for courses such as drone flight and brain-computer interfaces, attracting teenagers from South Korea and Belgium...
