With the peak summer travel season over, off-peak travel is now at its best. Meituan data from September 5th shows that nearly 50% of those choosing "off-season travel" are between 20 and 30 years old, with popular destinations including Beijing, Chengdu, Harbin, Shanghai, and Nanjing. Taking Harbin as an example, its September tourism bookings increased by 19% year-on-year, with tourists mainly coming from Baoding, Beijing, Shenzhen, Changsha, and Chongqing.

Airfares are also at their lowest point during the off-season, giving travelers more reasons to travel during off-peak periods. In September, low-priced tickets are available for routes such as Beijing to Wuxi, Quanzhou, and Yinchuan; Shanghai to Weihai, Xiamen, Jieyang, and Shijiazhuang; and Guangzhou to Hangzhou, Wuxi, and Ningbo. For just a few hundred yuan, you can take a flight to another city for a weekend getaway. Meanwhile, with the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays only three days apart this year, the "take 3 days off, get 13 days off" extended holiday plan is gaining popularity, and bookings for the holidays are starting early. Data from the Meituan platform shows that travel bookings are trending upwards around September 24th.

During the recent summer vacation, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Hangzhou, and Zhengzhou were the most popular destinations for families with children. Meituan data shows that people stayed slightly longer when traveling, and tourism spending was more "relaxed," with families typically staying for 4 to 5 days at their destinations.

Currently, from following film and television trends to county-level stays and nighttime experiences, personalized, in-depth, and localized experiences have become the most prominent trend in cultural and tourism consumption this summer. A representative from Meituan's travel and tourism division stated that Meituan will continue to enrich its offerings of accommodations, tickets, and entertainment, better connecting tourists' personalized needs with local cultural and tourism resources, allowing more niche destinations and unique experiences to gain visibility, and contributing to the improvement and expansion of cultural and tourism consumption.
