The Bund is located on the bank of the Huangpu River, with a total length of about 1.5 kilometers. It is a scenic spot of symbolic significance for Shanghai. Its core highlights are the diverse world-style building complexes and the stunning night view of the Huangpu River. Dozens of classical revival buildings of distinct styles stand along the Bund, including the famous Bank of China Building, Shanghai Peace Hotel, Customs House and HSBC Building, which reproduce the elegant demeanor of the former "Wall Street of the Far East". Surprisingly, these buildings were neither designed by the same architect nor built in the same period, yet they present a unique harmonious beauty. The Bund boasts various architectural styles including French classical, French grand mansion, Gothic and more. All of them are important historical sites and representative architectures of modern and contemporary China, forming a gorgeous scenic line along the Huangpu River. When night falls, neon lights on both banks glow and reflect each other. Taking a Huangpu River cruise or ferry to sail on the river, you will feel the river breeze brushing your face. On one side is the Bund that witnesses historical development, on the other side is Lujiazui, the landmark of Shanghai's modern construction, together with the elegant silhouette of Waibaidu Bridge, allowing you to admire the beauty of this bustling metropolis from a brand new angle.
