Thailand: Rayong Province hopes to deepen bilateral tourism cooperation between Thailand and China.
"Chengdu is an important economic center and tourism gateway city in western China, possessing enormous tourism consumption potential and a vast market space," said Saraliwan Thatawi, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province, Thailand, in Chengdu on the 8th. She expressed her hope to establish a long-term and stable partnership with the Chinese tourism industry to jointly develop tourism products and routes that meet the needs of Chinese tourists.
Rayong Province, located in eastern Thailand, boasts diverse tourism resources including island resorts, gourmet seafood, fruit picking, community cultural experiences, and water sports. Among them, Koh Samet's turquoise waters and white sand beaches, abundant fresh seafood and tropical fruits like durian, as well as experiential tourism products such as diving, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), and marathons are particularly popular with tourists. Pizzamai Suphanantharat, President of the Rayong Hotel Association, expressed his hope to cultivate Rayong's new image as a "diverse experiential tourism destination," providing tourists with a more comprehensive travel experience.
Apichawa Chacharongkyi, Deputy Director of Domestic Marketing at the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that China remains one of Thailand's most important international tourism markets. Thailand is continuously advancing its "two-way tourism" strategy, promoting the flow of tourists between the two countries while actively expanding its high-quality tourism market. Currently, Thailand is fully prepared to welcome Chinese tourists, providing a safe, comfortable, and high-quality travel environment.
On the same day, the "Rayong Tourism Promotion Conference," jointly organized by the Rayong Provincial Government, the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization, the Rayong Hotel Association, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Chengdu and Rayong offices, was held in Chengdu. Representatives from Rayong's tourism industry held one-on-one business talks with several travel agencies in Sichuan Province, engaging in in-depth exchanges on product development, including group tours, independent travel, small group tours, and in-depth experiential tours.
Saraliwan Thatawi stated that this promotional event is an important part of Rayong Province's efforts to expand into the international market. The event focuses on emerging customer groups with high spending power who value quality of life and unique experiences, aiming to enhance Rayong Province's market appeal as a premium tourist destination in eastern Thailand through targeted marketing and market alignment.
