Today (September 3), the heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Saudel continues, with the center of the rainfall shifting slightly southward. Some areas in Guangdong and Fujian experienced torrential rain. Tomorrow, the heavy rainfall from Saudel will come to an end, but precautions should be taken against secondary disasters that may be triggered by the continuous rainfall. Rainfall in northern China will be generally light over the next three days, with significant temperature differences between day and night; those going out early or returning late should dress warmly.

The impact of Typhoon Saudel continues, with heavy rainfall still occurring in Guangdong, Fujian, and other areas.

Yesterday, affected by Typhoon Saudel (No. 18 of this year) and its outer circulation, heavy rainfall occurred in parts of southeastern coastal areas of my country. Monitoring showed that some areas in northwestern and central-southern Zhejiang, eastern Fujian, northeastern Guangdong, western Jiangxi, southeastern Hunan, and southern Taiwan experienced heavy rain or torrential rain, with localized extremely heavy rain in Wenzhou, Zhejiang and Zhangzhou, Fujian.

Around 6:30 AM this morning, Typhoon Saudel made its third landfall along the coast of Gulei, Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. After landfall, it moved westward and gradually weakened. As Saudel moves westward, the center of heavy rainfall along the southern coast will shift southward today, mainly affecting eastern Guangdong and southeastern Fujian. Tomorrow, the heavy rainfall brought by Saudel will come to an end, but heavy to torrential rain will still occur in Guangdong and Fujian.

Specifically, the National Meteorological Center forecasts that today, parts of eastern and northern Guangdong, most of Fujian, central and southern Jiangxi, southeastern Hunan, Taiwan, western Yunnan, and the Tianshan Mountains region of Xinjiang will experience heavy to torrential rain. Among these areas, parts of eastern and southern Fujian, southern Jiangxi, eastern Guangdong, and southern and northeastern Taiwan will experience extremely heavy rain, with localized areas in southeastern Fujian and eastern Guangdong experiencing exceptionally heavy rain.

Tomorrow, parts of southern Hunan, southern Jiangxi, central and southern Fujian, northeastern Guangxi, northern Guangdong, central and northern Taiwan, and the Tianshan Mountains region of Xinjiang will experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas in southeastern Fujian, northern Guangdong, and central and southern Jiangxi experiencing extremely heavy rain.

The day after tomorrow, heavy rain is expected in parts of eastern Zhejiang, southern Jiangxi, southern Fujian, most of Taiwan, the Tianshan Mountains region of Xinjiang, and northwestern Heilongjiang.

The meteorological department warns that many coastal areas in southern China have been experiencing continuous heavy rainfall recently. Today and tomorrow, Guangdong, Fujian and other places will still see heavy rain. People should be alert to secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides and mudslides that may be triggered by the rainfall. When traveling in the rain, the public should pay attention to traffic safety and try to avoid periods of heavy rainfall.

Large temperature differences between day and night in many parts of northern China; summer heat to intensify in southern China

Over the next three days, most parts of northern China will experience little rainfall, with significant temperature differences between day and night. High temperatures in Northwest, North, and Huanghuai regions will hover around 30℃, while low temperatures will mostly be 20℃ or below. The temperature difference between day and night will generally exceed 10℃, and in some areas, it may reach over 15℃. It will feel like two different seasons in a single day, so those going out early or returning late should dress warmly to avoid catching a cold.

From the 6th to the 9th, Northwest, North, and Northeast China will experience rainfall from west to east, accompanied by a temperature drop of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius. Cities like Taiyuan and Harbin may see highs below 20 degrees Celsius on the 9th, with a significant increase in coolness. The public is advised to pay close attention to the latest weather forecasts and adjust their clothing accordingly.

Rainfall in southern China will decrease significantly after the 5th, while the subtropical high will strengthen again, leading to a return of hot weather from south to north. For example, in Fuzhou, the high temperature will be below 30℃ today and tomorrow, but may rise to 34℃ from the 5th to the 6th; precautions against heatstroke are advised.
