Typhoon continues to affect Fujian and other areas; rainfall develops and temperatures drop in the north.
Today (September 4th), the remnants of Typhoon Saudel will continue to bring heavy rainfall to Fujian and other areas, with some areas experiencing torrential downpours. Tomorrow, the rainfall in these areas will significantly weaken, and the heavy rain will essentially cease. Rainfall will increase in northern China starting the day after tomorrow. Under the influence of rain and cold air, temperatures will drop significantly in most areas, with many places experiencing new lows for autumn.
The remnants of Typhoon Saudel are affecting Fujian, Jiangxi, and other areas in the north, with rainfall increasing from tomorrow.
Yesterday, affected by Typhoon Saudel (No. 18 of this year), monsoon airflow, and cold air, heavy rainfall occurred in Fujian, Guangdong, and other places. Monitoring showed that some areas in central and southern Fujian, central and southern Jiangxi, southern Hunan, eastern Guangdong, northern Zhejiang, and Taiwan experienced torrential rain or heavy torrential rain, with localized extremely heavy torrential rain in Putian and Quanzhou in Fujian.
Typhoon Saudel weakened into a tropical depression on the afternoon of the 3rd and ceased to be numbered at 17:00 that day. However, its remnants will still bring heavy rainfall to Fujian, Jiangxi and other areas today. The heavy rainfall in my country will basically subside tomorrow, with moderate to heavy rain in parts of Jiangnan and South China. Rainfall will increase in the north starting the day after tomorrow.
Specifically, the National Meteorological Center forecasts that today, parts of southern Hunan, central and southern Jiangxi, eastern and central-southern Fujian, and northeastern Guangxi will experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas in southern Hunan, southwestern Jiangxi, and eastern Fujian experiencing extremely heavy rain, and some areas in eastern Fujian experiencing exceptionally heavy rain.
Tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of southern Jiangxi, southern Fujian, northern Guangdong, Taiwan, southern Tibet, the Tianshan Mountains region and western southern Xinjiang, northwestern Heilongjiang, and western Yunnan, with localized torrential rain in northern Taiwan.
The day after tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of eastern Qinghai, Hexi Corridor in Gansu, northern Ningxia, southwestern Yunnan, southern Tibet, western and northeastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Heilongjiang, southern coastal Guangdong, and Taiwan. Locally heavy rain is expected in northeastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Heilongjiang, and southwestern Taiwan.
The meteorological department warns that heavy rainfall will continue in Fujian and other areas today. Recent frequent rainfall in the region necessitates precautions against secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and mudslides. Rainfall will increase in northern China starting the day after tomorrow; slippery roads and poor visibility will necessitate caution when traveling.
Heatwave continues in South China, high temperatures persist in the Sichuan Basin, while significant cooling is expected in the north.
As rainfall decreases, temperatures are rising in the south, and the heatwave will intensify again, with many areas in Jiangnan and South China seeing maximum temperatures return to above 30℃. For example, Fuzhou's high today is 30℃, and it may reach 35℃ tomorrow and the day after, with the heatwave returning. The Sichuan Basin will experience persistent high temperatures, and Chongqing may see high temperatures throughout the next week; precautions against heatstroke are advised.
In northern China, affected by rainfall and cold air, temperatures in the central and eastern parts of Northwest China, North China, Northeast China, and the Huanghuai region will drop by 4 to 8°C from the 6th to the 9th, with some areas in Inner Mongolia experiencing drops of over 10°C. After the temperature drop, temperatures in most parts of northern China may become lower than the average for this time of year, with many areas setting new lows for autumn.
In many parts of Northeast and Northwest China, the maximum temperature will drop below 20℃ on the 8th, while in many parts of North China it will drop below 25℃. For example, Lanzhou's maximum temperature tomorrow will still be 31℃, but on the 8th it may only reach 17℃, bringing a noticeable chill. The public is advised to dress appropriately and take precautions against catching a cold. (Source: China Weather Network)
