On August 17th, the closing ceremony of the "Tonggui New Customs: Art and Culture Empowering" project for promoting civilized practices and changing customs, along with the "Our Festival: Qixi Festival" themed event, was held at the New Era Civilization Practice Square in Tonggui Township, Xingqing District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia. The event showcased the project's achievements, with three "Tonggui New Customs Art and Culture Light Cavalry" teams presenting performances. These performances used art forms popular with the public to spread civilized concepts and promote the transformation of customs and habits at the grassroots level, integrating them into people's lives.

To deepen the development of rural spiritual civilization and cultivate civilized rural customs, good family traditions, and simple folk customs, Tonggui Township, relying on the "Tonggui New Customs" brand, launched the "Tonggui New Customs: Art and Culture Empowerment" project in 2026 to promote civilized practices and change customs. At the event, Zhang Mingyue, a member of the Party Committee and Organization Committee of Tonggui Township, presented graduation certificates and souvenirs to the team members who passed the assessment. Following this, the "Our Festival: Qixi Festival" themed event was held, exploring the contemporary connotations of "fidelity in love and harmony in family" within Qixi culture through themed presentations and interactive experiences, guiding the public to establish civilized family values.

The cultural performances were a highlight of the event. The song and dance performance "New Civilized Customs in Tonggui" used the daily lives of villagers as its creative backdrop, showcasing the achievements of building civilized rural customs; the instrumental ensemble "Market Songs" displayed the atmosphere of rural life; the musical storytelling "Changing Customs and Habits in Tonggui" promoted key aspects of changing customs, such as exorbitant bride prices and extravagant weddings; and other programs, including the performance song "Let Happiness Fly," the storytelling skit "The Way to Make Money," and the group dance "China in the Lights," conveyed new civilized customs through art forms familiar to the public.

"Artistic empowerment" not only enriches the spiritual and cultural life of the masses, but also provides a new vehicle for grassroots civilization practices. Tonggui Township has cultivated local art troupes, transforming villagers from participants in cultural activities into disseminators of new civilized practices.
