Spot Introduction

Fuxing Park is one of the earliest parks established in Shanghai. Over 80 years ago, this area was a stretch of fertile farmland inhabited by hardworking yet impoverished farmers. As a French-style park, Fuxing Park adopts a formal garden layout as its keynote, which gradually transitions to a naturalistic style in the southwestern section. In recent years, a large number of ornamental flowers and trees have been newly added, bringing the total number of arbors and shrubs to more than 10,000 of 140 species, among which there are numerous towering plane trees, as well as rare precious species including horse chestnut, linden and sweetgum. Fuxing Park is also very lively at night. The French-style atmosphere complements the colorful nightlife perfectly. The click-clack of high heels may suddenly come from a quiet corner, or under the French plane trees late at night, slightly tipsy young people who have just finished their gatherings wait for taxis by the roadside. The night in Shanghai always stays up very late.
