Spot Introduction

Synopsis The arrival of a touring troupe of artists shatters the silence of a gloomy industrial town. Joan, the mayor's son, unexpectedly meets Zaira, a singer from the troupe, and catches a glimpse of a life he has longed for but never experienced. Two vastly different worlds collide, stirring dormant dreams and unsettling the seemingly calm surface of the town amid the tension between desire and reality. Production Introduction This is the peak swan song work for the 50th anniversary of Spain's legendary theatre company Dagoll Dagom, adapted from the classic Catalan modernist drama. Since its premiere in 2023, the show has swept multiple major Spanish theatre awards and become a phenomenal production in Barcelona with 167 performances. As the first Catalan-language musical making its debut at Shanghai Culture Square, *L'ALEGRIA QUE PASSA* (Fleeting Joy) will bring a distinct Barcelona-style artistic highlight to Shanghai audiences in 2026, with its modern music style that fuses electronic music and live performance, as well as visually impactful choreography that blends street dance, acrobatics and physical theatre. This artistic team is already fully prepared. Taking the original one-act play created by Rusiñol as the starting point, they will present a poetic picture, paying tribute to the desires that ignite and burn inside us. Even though these desires sometimes seem fleeting, they are indispensable to us. —— Marc Rosich, Director of *L'ALEGRIA QUE PASSA* Press Reviews It exudes a strong contemporary vibe. —— *El Periódico* A musical that captivates people from the very first moment. —— *Teatre Barcelona* Creative Team Creative Concept: Anna Rosa Cisquella Text Creation / Director: Marc Rosich Composer / Musical Director: Andreu Gallén Choreography Director: Ariadna Peya Book: Anna Rosa Cisquella, Andreu Gallén, Ariadna Peya, Marc Rosich Lyrics: Andreu Gallén, Marc Rosich Awards and Honors 2023 Barcelona Theatre Awards: Best Musical / Best Adapted Script / Best Performance in a Musical 2023 TeatreMusical.cat Awards: Best Large-Scale Musical / Best Leading Actress / Best Stage Director / Best Choreography / Best Supporting Actress / Best Script 2023 Butaca Awards: Best Musical / Best Actress in a Musical / Best Actor in a Musical / Best Sound Design / Best Original Musical Composition
