On September 9th, the "Origin of the Three Rivers, Jade Encounters Beijing" Beijing-Yushu Cultural Exchange Week opened at Shougang Park in Beijing. The event, jointly hosted by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Commerce, the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture People's Government, and the Qinghai Yushu Command of the Beijing Municipal Leading Group for Support and Cooperation, and organized by the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Culture, Sports, Tourism and Radio and Television Bureau, will run until September 13th. This exchange week leverages the national platform of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services to showcase the fruitful results of Beijing's 16 years of counterpart support for Yushu.

Li Junjie, Party Secretary and Commander of the Beijing-Qinghai Yushu Command, and Deputy Secretary of the Yushu Prefecture Party Committee and Vice Governor of Qinghai Province, stated that this exchange week has been carefully designed with diverse content integrating agriculture, animal husbandry, culture, and tourism, including Yushu intangible cultural heritage displays, industry promotions, food tastings, cultural performances, local medicinal herbs, and sports exchanges. At the same time, it allows the people of Yushu to experience firsthand the profound heritage and contemporary charm of Beijing culture.

The core exhibition area of this exchange week, "Three Rivers Scenery - Yushu Intangible Cultural Heritage Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Culture and Tourism Exhibition," is located in Hall 10 of Shougang Park. Using the Yushu all-area tourism loop as its framework, it is arranged into six themed exhibition areas according to the "one city and five counties" concept, allowing visitors to "travel along the source of the Yangtze River and view the entirety of one city and five counties." From nationally representative intangible cultural heritage projects to local folk traditional crafts, the diverse and profound ethnic cultures of the snowy plateau are showcased in the capital.

During the exchange week, the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture National Song and Dance Troupe, the Sanjiangyuan Intangible Cultural Heritage Song and Dance Troupe, and the Gesar Ancient Music Troupe will take turns performing special cultural shows, including characteristic songs and dances and Tibetan costume shows, to showcase the life and customs of the people of Yushu.

This exchange week features a fully interactive intangible cultural heritage experience. Visitors can color Thangka line drawings, experience rubbing, feel the millennia-old metal forging techniques at the cold forging workbench, and create their own tea sets using plateau clay in the black and red pottery sculpting area, learning about the cultural connotations of plateau crafts through hands-on practice.
