With the recent heatwave, the working and living conditions of frontline outdoor workers have become a major concern. To effectively strengthen safety measures for high-temperature operations, improve the public service system for outdoor workers, and address the practical difficulties faced by these urban workers, two standardized rest stations in Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie, were recently officially opened and put into operation.

The two newly opened rest stations precisely target the high-frequency needs of workers in new employment forms, such as sanitation workers, truck drivers, food delivery riders, and express delivery workers, as well as outdoor workers. Built in strict accordance with standardized requirements, they are equipped with 12 convenient service facilities. Each station is fully equipped with rest seats, drinking fountains, charging sockets, electric fans, microwave ovens, first-aid kits, and free Wi-Fi, comprehensively covering diverse scenarios such as drinking water and cooling off, temporary rest, mobile phone charging, hot meals and rest, and emergency assistance. They truly enable workers to "drink water when thirsty, cool off when hot, rest when tired, and seek help when in trouble," creating a tangible, warm, and convenient outdoor "heartwarming haven" and effectively addressing the shortcomings in service and support for outdoor workers.

On the day the rest station opened, warmth and coolness were delivered to frontline workers. Staff from the Wulingyuan District Federation of Trade Unions went to the site to deliver cooling packages, fresh fruit, and other heatstroke prevention supplies to representatives of frontline workers, including sanitation workers, ride-hailing drivers, truck drivers, and food delivery riders. They carefully reminded everyone to balance work and rest, take precautions against heatstroke, and pay attention to work safety. "Every summer I receive these cooling gifts from the trade union, which warms my heart and gives me more energy to work!" said Ms. Wang, a frontline sanitation worker who received a cooling package.

"When you're tired from work, seeking refuge from the heat, or finding shelter from the rain, you can come in and rest anytime." At the event, staff patiently explained the service scope, facilities, and opening rules of the rest station to passing workers, guiding them step-by-step to familiarize themselves with the various convenient facilities. The detailed explanations and thoughtful services have helped more and more frontline workers understand, visit, and make good use of the rest station, ensuring that this convenient and heartwarming facility truly takes root, benefits people's livelihoods, and effectively delivers the trade union's care to the grassroots and into the hearts of the people.

These small, welcoming rest stations embody the warmth of people's livelihoods. The opening of these stations and the accompanying cooling and care campaign are vivid examples of the Wulingyuan District Federation of Trade Unions' efforts to address workers' needs, deepen public services, and strengthen grassroots support. This further strengthens the district's network of care services for outdoor workers and refines heartwarming measures for protecting workers in high-temperature conditions. "Next, we will continue to listen to the voices of frontline workers, dynamically optimize the station's service functions, enrich its service offerings, and improve service quality and efficiency," said a relevant official from the Wulingyuan District Federation of Trade Unions. They added that they will focus on providing regular, meticulous, and long-term care services, continuously carrying out various heartwarming visits and convenient services, wholeheartedly addressing the urgent needs and concerns of frontline workers, and striving to protect the city's workers, thereby continuously enhancing the sense of gain, happiness, and security among the vast majority of workers.
