Today (September 10), rainfall from Shaanxi to the Sichuan Basin will significantly decrease, although some areas still need to be wary of moderate to heavy rain. Most areas in central and eastern China will be under the influence of a dry and cold air mass, resulting in mostly sunny weather. Regarding temperatures, the cold air continues to move westward and southward today, shifting the core area of cooling, and the prolonged high temperatures in Chongqing will finally subside.

Rainfall weakens from Shaanxi to the Sichuan Basin, while sunny weather prevails in central and eastern China.

Under the influence of cold air and a low-level shear line, heavy rainfall occurred across southwestern Shaanxi, Yunnan, and Sichuan yesterday. Monitoring showed that heavy rain or torrential rain occurred in parts of central and southern Shaanxi, eastern Gansu, central Sichuan Basin, northeastern Yunnan, and western Guizhou, with localized extremely heavy rain in Mianyang, Deyang, and Chengdu in Sichuan, and Zhaotong in Yunnan.

Today, rainfall in the aforementioned areas will significantly decrease and eventually end, but moderate to heavy rain will still occur in southern Shaanxi and the Sichuan Basin. Meanwhile, most of central and eastern China will be under the influence of a dry and cold air mass, with sunny weather expected today and tomorrow, and particularly clear and crisp autumn skies in Northeast and North China.

Specifically, today, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of the central and eastern Sichuan Basin, western and southern Yunnan, southern Guangxi, northeastern Hainan Island, southern Qinghai, northern Tibet, and northern Sichuan Plateau, with localized torrential rain in western Yunnan and other areas.

Tomorrow, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Hainan Island, western mountainous areas of southern Xinjiang, eastern and southern Qinghai, Tibet, western Sichuan Plateau, western Yunnan, Taiwan Island, eastern Inner Mongolia, and northern Heilongjiang. Heavy rain is expected in parts of central and eastern Hainan Island.

The day after tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of northeastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Heilongjiang, western Sichuan Plateau, Hainan Island, and southeastern Tibet, with some areas in northeastern Inner Mongolia and eastern Hainan Island experiencing torrential rain.

Meteorological experts warn that frequent rainfall is expected in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, and the Sichuan Basin recently, with heavy rainfall in some areas. It is necessary to guard against secondary disasters that may be caused by the rainfall. The public is advised to avoid going to dangerous areas such as mountainous areas and river valleys in the near future.

The high temperatures in Chongqing have finally subsided, but starting tomorrow, hot weather with temperatures above 30°C will become more frequent in central and eastern China.

As cold air moved south, the temperature drop area expanded to western Sichuan Basin, central and southern Shaanxi, southern Shanxi, Henan, Hubei and other places yesterday, with many places experiencing a drop of 6°C to 14°C. In particular, the temperature in Shiyan, Hubei and other places dropped in reverse, and it was cooler around noon than in the early morning.

Today, the core area of cooling will shift further west and south, easing the hot weather in most parts of Jiangnan, with maximum temperatures dropping below 30°C. Chongqing, which had previously experienced persistent high temperatures, will also see its maximum temperature drop rapidly to 25°C today, transitioning from hot to cool.

In addition to the drop in maximum temperature, many parts of central and eastern China will see record low minimum temperatures today and tomorrow, with Hohhot experiencing single-digit lows. People are advised to wear appropriate clothing when going out in the morning and evening to avoid catching a cold.

Following this cold front, a continental high-pressure system will move eastward over Northwest China, causing temperatures to gradually rise from north to south. It is expected that from tomorrow until early next week, areas in central and eastern China will see temperatures above 30°C, with overall temperatures near or slightly above normal.
