Reporters learned on the 31st that during the summer travel season (July 1st to August 31st), the total number of inbound and outbound passengers at Shanghai Pudong International Airport reached 6.7 million, averaging nearly 110,000 passengers per day, with passenger flow remaining at a high level. During the same period, Hongqiao International Airport also saw 628,000 inbound and outbound passengers.

This summer, families with children and students were the main drivers of cross-border travel. Data from the Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Station shows that 2.2 million mainland residents departed from Pudong International Airport during the summer travel season; study tours were mainly to Europe, America, and Australia, with long-haul routes such as Venice and Barcelona being popular.

At Hongqiao International Airport, during the summer travel season, the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station inspected a total of 353,000 mainland residents entering and leaving the country; passengers traveling to and from Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong and Macau accounted for the largest proportion. According to the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station, during the summer travel season, the station inspected over 290 business jets and charter flights, an increase of over 10% compared to the same period last year.

While outbound tourism is booming, inbound tourism to China by foreign tourists continues to rise. During the summer travel season, Pudong International Airport processed over 900,000 inbound foreign passengers, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. Visa-free entry accounted for 62% of all inbound foreign passengers. South Korean passengers were the most numerous, followed by passengers from Russia, Japan, the United States, Thailand, and Malaysia. It is reported that the number of foreign passengers entering through Hongqiao International Airport has increased significantly. Throughout the summer travel season, Hongqiao Border Inspection Station processed a total of 130,000 inbound and outbound foreign passengers.

Reporters learned that at Pudong International Airport, the Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Station is utilizing self-developed software such as a precision duty assistance system and a shift management system to predict passenger flow in real time and dynamically adjust on-duty police force based on changes in flight and passenger traffic, thus shifting duty organization from experience-based judgment to data-driven support. On the other hand, the station has comprehensively upgraded the intelligent verification counters in the arrival and departure areas of Terminal 2 and implemented zoned and categorized inspections of inbound foreigners, scientifically setting up personnel flow and inspection posts.

At Hongqiao International Airport, the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station has established a dynamic passenger flow analysis mechanism in conjunction with the airport and airlines. During peak passenger flow periods, it flexibly opens additional inspection channels and dynamically allocates police support, continuously improving port clearance efficiency. Simultaneously, the station has optimized the dedicated inspection and support procedures for business jets and charter flights, further enhancing the level of refined support. In addition, the One ID "face-based clearance" system for all international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan flights at Hongqiao International Airport has been officially launched, making travel more convenient for eligible passengers.
