September 2nd is Vietnam's National Day. This year, Vietnam arranged a five-day holiday from August 29th to September 2nd, leading to a surge in tourism. In recent days, several border crossings in Guangxi have seen a peak in Vietnamese tourists entering the country.

Data provided by the Guangxi Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station on September 2 showed that from August 29 to September 1, 47,800 Vietnamese passengers entered Guangxi through its border ports, averaging 12,000 passengers per day, a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

"I'd heard Guangxi was close before, but I never had the chance to come. This time I can finally slow down and take a look around." Nguyen Thi Ngo from Haiphong, Vietnam, crossed the border at Dongxing Port on the afternoon of the 2nd, concluding her three-day trip to Guangxi. During her time in Guangxi, she visited the Taiping Ancient City in Chongzuo, strolled through the Nanning night market, and tasted Lao You Fen (a type of rice noodle soup) and Suan Ye (a type of pickled vegetable dish).

According to Qin Qiaozhen, manager of Guangxi Nanning Lvjiale International Travel Agency, during Vietnam's National Day holiday this year, the number of tourist bookings far exceeded expectations. The travel agency has organized more than 1,000 Vietnamese tourists to enter Guangxi, which is nearly double the number compared with the same period last year.

According to Qin Qiaozhen, during Vietnam's National Day holiday this year, three to five-day in-depth tours have become the mainstream. "Many tourists actively request to stay overnight in guesthouses in ancient towns, experience local life in the local markets, and even queue up specifically for a bowl of freshly cooked Lao You Pho."

In response to the continuously increasing passenger flow, the Guangxi Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has opened all inspection channels at major ports such as Youyiguan and Dongxing to facilitate passenger flow. Meanwhile, leveraging the China-Vietnam Detian (Ban Gioc) Waterfall Cross-border Tourism Cooperation Zone, it has introduced facilitation measures such as "no fingerprinting, no inspection stamp, and no filling out of a foreigner's entry card," further shortening clearance times and improving port efficiency.
