From Broadway to the manga-adaptation universe, his melodies are "addictive".
He is a legend who taught himself piano. Before stepping into the theatre, Frank Wildhorn was already a master songwriter for global pop superstars — the track *Where Do Broken Hearts Go* that earned Whitney Houston her 7th consecutive Billboard No.1 hit was written by him.
When he brought his sharp pop music sensibility into the theatre world, he created the timeless masterpiece *Jekyll & Hyde* that has driven countless musical fans worldwide crazy. In 1999, Wildhorn had three productions *Jekyll & Hyde*, *The Scarlet Pimpernel* and *The Civil War* running on Broadway simultaneously, becoming the first American composer to achieve this feat in 22 years.
In recent years, Wildhorn has turned his gaze to Asia, breaking the "dimensional wall" and injecting a perfect blend of classical elegance and pop-rock soulful rhythm into manga-adapted musicals including *Your Lie in April* and *Princess Knight*.
Music is like love, it knows no borders
"Music, like love, knows no borders."
—— Frank Wildhorn
From North America to Europe and then to Asia, Wildhorn's music has been performed and loved on stages across different languages.
Whether it is the split Jekyll and Hyde, the lonely Count Dracula, or the Man of the Man who bears a forced smile carved by fate... Wildhorn uses his soulful melodies to render intense dramatic conflicts, vividly telling the hidden pain of love, the tear of identity and self-sacrifice, accurately setting off the fateful atmosphere. He builds a bridge with music, becoming the emotional bond connecting the stage and the souls of the audience.
Wildhorn's debut, all-star lineup, exclusive for Shanghai
Wildhorn's works are the "touchstone" for lead singers, and also showstopper pieces. This time, the legend will be present in person: Frank Wildhorn will step onto the Chinese stage for the first time, leading Thomas Borchert, Kerry Ellis, Sabrina Weckerlin, Gerónimo Rauch and Xu Lidong to sing on the same stage, with special guest appearances by Ye Qisheng and Zhong Jiacheng. With the most direct, most sensory-impacting vocals, they will reproduce those passionate, soul-stirring and stunning classic scenes, presenting an unrepeatable gathering.
